HeriQ (Heritage story telling) – Qualitative Interpretation

Protecting Europe’s natural and cultural heritage requires first and foremost understanding and respect. The project HeriQ contributes to the quality of Heritage interpretation, one of the main tools for sharing Heritage.

The HeriQ project aims to develop quality standards for heritage interpretation (ParcInterp innovation) focusing on improving the professional performance of target groups (mountain guides, museum guides and tour guides) through the introduction of quality standards for the interpretation of the heritage are aimed at upgrading vocational education and training in order to develop professional skills according to the needs of the labor market.

Through this project, the MCE has transferred in Greece the innovative ParcInterp approach (quality standards for heritage interpretation) to strengthen professional training on this topic.

The Interpretive Guide – Sharing Heritage with People was tested, improved and translated in 10 languages.

HeriQ’s Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) courses are organized with our Greek expert, Valya Stergioti, interpretive trainer and planner, member of Interpret Europe.

Following an agreement between the HeriQ Consortium and Interpret Europe in 2015, HeriQ’s Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) course formed the basis for the MCE’s training activities on this topic.
