The Mediterranean Center of Environment wants to help local actors to better orient their policies towards sustainable local development. Through local and European projects, networking, professional training and studies, the MCE is supporting skills improvement, structuring partnerships and strengthening local activities.
The MCE has developed a strong experience in the development of sustainable rural tourism destination.
Based in Athens since 1987 and co-founder of the MCE since 1993. She has a long experience in EU projects implementation and coordination, mainly in the field of natural environment and architectural heritage protection and enhancement. She gives special attention to education and youth involvement through European workshops, but also to professional training and public awareness. Since 2015, she is developing for the MCE alternative tourism products with local actors.
Annie is from Lefkada, a Greek island in the Ionian Sea, and comes from the educational sector, having a strong experience in teaching French language. She joined the MCE's team in 2018 to contribute to the design and the development of solidarity and alternative tourism destinations in Greece, for French TOs.
PhD on Environmental Law. She is working since more than 20 years on European project development and coordination, mainly dealing with Sustainable local development. She has been involved in wide variety of activities relating to EU environmental policy implementation: research and study, training, European project development, EU projects’ communication, as well as project evaluation. She is collaborator of the MCE since 2001.
